WakaWai is a production of our passion. We love paddlesports, we are enthusiastic about the lifestyle. Bringing
gear to you is not just something we do but something that we are excited about. We believe in
working to live and not living to work. In our first business venture 14 years ago, we found ourselves doing the opposite,
so needless to say we sold it. From that venture, we decided it is important to maintain our quality of life.
Every decision we have made since then is chosen to exemplify our lifestyle. My wife and I have
lived in various places in Western North Carolina and a short stay in Jackson, WY. After logging over 20 combined years
of paddling some kind of water craft, abroad and in the states, we are proud to call Weaverville, NC home.

We chose Weaverville, NC for its accesability to over 100 whitewater runs and the abundance of lakes all within a
couple hours drive of the city centre. Not to mention the good music flowing constantly through the area and excellent
beer choices at your finger tips! We also appreciate the opportunities here in Weaverville, the US and globally, to
include alternative resources into WakaWai, such as biodiesel, organic fabrics, sustainable forestry practices and recyclable
plastics, which we feel is absolutely important in this day and age. Happily situated with our beautiful daughter,
4 dogs and 2 cats, our quality of life is at its highest. We look forward to out next trip, wherever it may be.
We hope we have the opportunity to meet you there. Good Lines! The Briere's
